Throwers Net Top-10 Finishes at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas – The Air Force throws squad accounted for three top-10 finishes on Thursday (March 27) afternoon, as sophomore Jonah Meyer, senior Cooper Stroka, and junior Texas Tanner represented the Falcons in the first full day of action at the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin.

Backed by a runner-up finish rom Tanner, the Falcons accounted for a pair of top-six finishers in a hammer throw event that included 21 athletes – despite having to wait out a weather delay and then compete under rainy conditions. The junior recorded a throw of 68.09 meters (223'4") to place second in the overall field, while Stroka added a season-best throw of 62.35 meters (204'6") to place sixth. From the javelin runway, Meyer recording a season-opening distance of 51.50 meters (168'11") to finish ninth in his section of the javelin throw.

The Falcons return to action tomorrow (March 28) for another day of competition at the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos and the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin.
