Sebastien Dos Santos enters his third season in 2025-26 as an assistant coach with Air Force fencing.
Dos Santos works primarily with the epee group. In 2024-25, he helped produce three NCAA qualifiers in Omar Emara, Ellie Kim and Christina Watrall. Watrall was the 2025 West Regional and MPSF women's epee gold medalist. Emara was the MPSF men's epee gold medalist. The women's epee group of Kim and Watrall secured the gold and silver medals at both the NCAA West Regional and MPSF Championships. The men's group of George Gasparovich IV and Emara helped secure silver and bronze medals in men's epee at the West Regional. For his efforts, Dos Santos was named the 2025 MPSF Fencing Assistant Coach of the Year.
Dos Santos has 27 years of coaching experience, going back to 1998. He began coaching in France from 1998 to 2004 before coaching in Brazil from 2006 to 2008. Dos Santos has coached in the United State since 2008 and was with USA Fencing from 2009-21.
Dos Santos has coached in five Olympics, coaching for team USA in the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games (Director of epee), the 2016 Rio de Janeiro games (women’s epee assistant national coach) and the 2012 London games (men’s epee national coach). He coached at the 2008 Beijing games for Brazil and 2004 Athens games for France as a modern pentathlon coach.
Prior to coaching, Dos Santos competed in modern pentathlon and fencing, competing for the French National pentathlon team from 1985-97. He was also a cadet national champion in fencing.
He has a college degree from France National Institute of Sport (INSEP) in Sports Performance. In addition, he also has a degree in landscape design.
Dos Santos is married and has two kids. His passions are farming and mountain biking.
