Air Force Closes Out 2011 Season with Non-Conference Road Matches

    The Air Force volleyball team closes out the 2011 season this week with a pair of non-conference road contests in California. The Falcons will face 18th-ranked Pepperdine at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu on Tuesday, Nov. 22, before traveling to Northridge on Friday, Nov. 25, to face Cal State Northridge at The Matadome. Tuesday's match will take place at 7 p.m. (PST), while Friday's contest is scheduled for noon.

    MATCH INFORMATION
    Live stats and video will be available for both matches. The Falcons' match at Pepperdine can be found at www.pepperdinesports.com, while Air Force's match at Cal State Northridge will have items available at www.gomatadors.com. It is the regular season finale for Air Force, Pepperdine and Cal State Northridge.

    SCOUTING THE WAVES
    Pepperdine was ranked 18th in the Nov. 14 AVCA Coaches Poll and took two victories this past weekend, including a sweep of No. 20 San Diego. The Waves are 21-6 overall on the year, while claiming the West Coast Conference title with a 15-1 record. Six players have at least 100 kills for Pepperdine, with four collecting over 200, two over 300 and one over 400.

    SCOUTING THE MATADORES
    Cal State Northridge is 15-13 overall and finished Big West action in third place with a 9-7 mark. The Matadores split the past weekend, falling to UC-Santa Barbara and defeating Cal Poly. Five players have amassed over 100 kills, with three over 200 and one over 300.

    SERIES HISTORY
    Air Force has never faced Pepperdine. The Falcons hold a 1-2 Division II record against Cal State Northridge, but haven't faced the Matadors since 1989.

    CAN I LEND A HAND?
    With 11 assists in the conference quarterfinal on Nov. 18, Hillary Keltner crossed the 500-assist mark for the Falcons this season. The freshman has led the team in assists during 24 matches, accumulating 508 helpers to date.

    TOURNAMENT TALK
    Air Force dropped a 3-0 decision to eventual tournament champion Colorado State during the quarterfinal round of the Mountain West Volleyball Tournament on Nov. 18. Cami Richan paced the Falcons with eight kills, while Victoria Foster added six.
