USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Sophomore Taylor Parker was named the Air Force Athlete of the Week after helping the volleyball team to its first-ever win over Boise State on Saturday, Nov. 9. Parker, nearly unstoppable against the Broncos, hit at a career-best clip of .722 (13k-0e-18a) - which is the highest single-match hitting percentage in the conference this season.
The Broncos had no answer for Parker, who collected career-best marks in kills (13), hitting percentage (.722), solo blocks (1) and points (15.5), while adding season-high totals in attacks (18), assisted blocks (3) and total blocks (4). Not only was her .722 average the best single-match performance by anyone in the Mountain West this season, it is the best average by a member of the Air Force program since 1997.
Air Force returns to action this week, when it travels to Wyoming (Thursday, Nov. 14) and 10th-ranked Colorado State (Friday, Nov. 15) for conference matches.
