Air Force Volleyball Team Loses to Wyoming, 3-1
USAF, Colo. (Oct. 7) - Troubles continued for Falcons' volleyball, as the team remained winless in the Mountain West. Air Force dropped its fifth consecutive conference match Saturday (Oct. 7), losing to Wyoming, 3-1 (14-16, 15-10, 0-15, 8-15). The early games were competitive, with the Cowgirls grabbing the first game and the Falcons winning game two. Wyoming gained momentum in the third game however, blanking the Falcons 15-0. Air Force could never recover from the deflating loss, and the Cowgirls won game four to win the match. Delavane Diaz and Jamie Rempel led the offensive attack, netting 12 kills apiece. Ana-Marie Ortega and Diaz both finished the match with 15 digs, while Kristin Huitt had 26 assists. The team finished the match with a .116 hitting percentage. Three Wyoming players finished in double figures in kills, including Michele Rauter finished the game with 16 kills and 15 digs. Setter Katy Brown had 43 assists in the victory. Wyoming improves to 7-13 overall and 1-4 in the conference. The Falcons (6-10, 0-5 MWC) will be back in action Oct. 13, when they travel to Utah to take on the nationally-ranked BYU Cougars.
