SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
The Falcons' opponents will face each other in Laramie on Tuesday, before making their respective trips to the Academy later in the week. Wyoming, which holds a 6-8 overall record, split the opening weekend of conference play after taking a five-set victory over UNLV and falling to New Mexico in three. Colorado State, ranked 24th in the latest AVCA poll with a 12-2 overall record, opened the Mountain West season with home sweeps of New Mexico and UNLV. Individually, the Rams' Kirstie Hillyer and Paulina Hougaard-Jenson are ranked first (1.58) and second (1.32), respectively, in the Mountain West, in terms of blocks-per-set, while Hillyer is listed first in hitting (.462) and Katie Oleksak is ranked first in assists (12.08).
Air Force is 6-37 all-time against Wyoming and 1-46 in its lifetime series with Colorado State. The Falcons last defeated the Cowgirls at home in 2013, while the squad's only victory over the Rams came in their first meeting (1982).
Thursday's match is a Pack the House event, while Saturday's contest will include a rally towel giveaway.
REACHING ANOTHER MILESTONE
Following a 32-assist performance against San Jose State on Sept. 23, Shanleigh Conlan became just the eighth Air Force player in Division I history to record 1400 helpers in a career. Two nights earlier, against Nevada, Piper Heineck tallied three solo blocks to become just the eighth DI Falcon to record 40 solo stops in a career.
WHAT'S ON DECK
