Falcons Defeat Army In Front of Record Crowd
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Over 1,200 fans came out to see the Air Force volleyball team crush Army 3-0 (15-3, 15-7, 15-3) Friday night in the Falcons' opening game of the Air Force Classic tournament.
It was the highest fan attendance ever at an Air Force volleyball game at the Cadet East Gymnasium.
The match was never in question, as the Falcons' dominated from game one. They made just 17 errors combined in the three-game sweep.
Delavane Diaz led the team with 15 kills, while Shaylor Billings and Ana-Maria Ortega each added eight kills for the Falcons. Ortega led the team with 11 digs.
In earlier tournament action, Winthrop defeated Prairie View A&M in three games (15-1, 15-7, 15-8).
Tournament action continues Saturday when the Falcons host Prairie View at 11 a.m., and Winthrop at 7 p.m.
