Kristina Stewart Named to MSU All-Tournament Team


    MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Sophomore Kristina Stewart was named to the all-tournament team of the Comfort Inn Invitational, hosted by Morehead State. It is the first such honor for the Glendale, Ariz., native. She was one of seven athletes named to the all-tournament squad.

    Stewart posted a team-leading 29 kills over the three-match, 10-game weekend (2.90 kpg). Stewart, who hit .106 over the weekend, also ranked second on the team with four aces and 25 digs. She also added a two assists and another pair of blocks.

    Morehead State's Katelyn Barbour was named the tournament MVP, while teammates Erin Peak and Kristina Schoo were named to the all-tournament team. Central Arkansas' Camila Scapini and Amicha Williams joined Stewart on the roster, as did Western Carolina's Meredith Harmon.

    The MSU eagles won their own tournament with a perfect 3-0 mark. Central Arkansas went 2-1 to finish second, while Western Carolina (1-2) and Air Force (0-3) rounded out the field.
