USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Junior Hillary Keltner was named the Air Force Athlete of the Week after a strong all-around performance for the Falcons' volleyball team during the season-opening Pioneer Classic in Denver over the Aug. 30-31 weekend.
Keltner recorded the program's first triple-double since 1999 during the season-opener at Denver on Friday (Aug. 30), as she accounted for 10 kills, 43 assists and 17 digs. Keltner, only the second Air Force player to earn a triple-double since the program joined the Mountain West, hit .909 on the night with 10 kills on 11 swings and no errors.
She added a pair of double-doubles on Saturday (Aug. 31), bringing her career total to 16. Keltner collected 38 assists and 25 digs against UC Irvine, before notching 41 assists and a career-high 27 digs against Texas A&M Corpus Christi during the nightcap.
For the weekend, Keltner accounted for 15 kills, 122 assists, 69 digs and four blocks (all assisted), while hitting at a team-leading .519 (15k-1e-27) average.
The Falcons return to action this weekend, when they travel to California for the Sept. 6-7 weekend. Air Force will face Long Beach State and San Francisco at the Bay Area Challenge in San Francisco on Sept. 6-7, before closing out the trip with a match at St. Mary's College in Moraga.
