Air Force Volleyball to Appear on Television Twice in 2011

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Air Force volleyball team will be on television twice this fall, the Mountain West announced this afternoon (July 13). The overall conference television schedule features 17 matches, including an Oct. 8 date at the Academy's East Gym.

    Air Force will host the conference's newest member, Boise State, on Saturday, Oct. 8, for its first televised match, before traveling to Fort Worth, Texas, on Thursday, Oct. 27, for a match produced by TCU's film, television and digital media department.

    Both of the Falcons' matches will be broadcast live on The Mtn. - Mountain West Sports Network.

    In addition to the 17 regular season contests that are scheduled to be broadcast, all seven matches in the Mountain West Volleyball Tournament will be televised. The Mtn. will carry the quarterfinal and semifinal matches, while CBS Sports Network will air the championship match.

    Last season, during the first televised match ever at East Gym, Air Force claimed its first conference win since 2005 with a thrilling 3-1 victory over San Diego State.

    The Mtn. is carried nationally by DIRECTV (Channel 616) and available on cable systems in 25 states across the nation. CBS Sports Network is also widely available on cable systems and video providers across the country, and via satellite on DIRECTV (Channel 613) and Dish Network (Channel 152).
