Air Force Academy to Host USA vs. Brazil in Volleyball

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - In preparation for the upcoming summer games in Beijing, the Air Force Academy will be hosting the 2008 Olympic Exhibition series between the U.S. Women's National Team and the National Team of Brazil on June 11-14. Two of the matches will be played at the U.S. Olympic Training Center, while the other will be played at Clune Arena.

    This will be the first domestic home match for the U.S. Women's National Team since 2006 and its first such match against Brazil since 2005. Brazil is currently is the top-ranked team in the FIVB World Rankings, while Team USA is ranked fourth.

    This exhibition series is one of three upcoming events to help the U.S. coaching staff determine the final 12-player roster that will travel to Beijing, China, for the 2008 Olympic Games.

    Tickets are now on sale for all three matches and can be purchased at the Air Force Athletic Ticket Office.

    The matches at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs will be held on Wednesday, June 11 and Friday, June 13. Both contests are slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. in Sport Center I. The final match on Saturday, June 14, will take place at the Academy's Clune Arena. This match, which will begin at 7 p.m., will be produced by NBC.

    Ticket prices for the matches at the Olympic Training Center range from $8-$12, while the prices for the match at Clune Arena will be $8-$18. Click here for more ticket information.
