Four Falcons Earn Academic All-Conference Honors

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Four members of the 2011 Air Force volleyball team were named to the Mountain West Academic All-Conference Team, the league office announced today (Jan. 26). Claiming her first academic all-conference honor, freshman Ayesha Hein paced all Academy honorees with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Junior Maiya Perich earned her third selection to the academic all-conference list, while sophomore Claire Bieber claimed her second straight honor and freshman Lizzy Carpenter earned her first. A total of 308 student-athletes were named to the fall 2011 Mountain West Academic All-Conference team. Fall sports include men's and women's cross country, football, women's soccer and women's volleyball. To be eligible, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team. Air Force had 36 cadet-athletes collect academic all-conference honors during the fall. Name, Class, Major (GPA)
