SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Air Force volleyball team opened the second half of the conference season with a 3-0 loss to San Diego State tonight (Oct. 31) on the Aztecs' home floor. Sophomore Akokwe Clement paced all players with 13 kills during the Falcons' 19-25, 20-25, 22-25 loss.
Clement hit a team-leading .281 average, as she accounted for 13 kills on 32 attempts and just four errors. She was one of two Falcons to hit over .270 in the match, as junior Ayesha Hein hit at a clip of .273 (5k-2e-11a). Junior Hillary Keltner accounted for 28 of the team's 32 assists, while sophomore Rebecca Bates accounted for a team-high eight digs. Four Falcon sophomores recorded an ace, including Clement, Sherrill, Taylor Parker and Raquel Rosas.
The Falcons out-aced the Aztecs by a 3-0 margin, as Bates, Keltner and Sherrill each recorded one.
Air Force returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 2, when it travels to Las Vegas to take on UNLV.
