    Air Force Welcomes Three to Class of 2017

    Savannah Banyai, Collette Foster and Lauren Ossolinski entered the Academy as the Class of 2017.

    HIGH SCHOOL | CLUB TEAM: Thomas B. Doherty High School...coached by Julie Ortiz and Tara Hittle...three-year varsity letterwinner...two-time member of the team that placed third at the Colorado 5A state Championships...also a member of the team that won the Metro League (Colorado Springs) title and finished 10th in the state as a senior...also earned three varsity letters in track...four-time member of the Metro League championship team... ran on the 4x400-meter relay team that finished third at the 5A Metro League Championships...also placed fifth in the discus...also earned a fifth-place finish at the USATF Junior Olympics - Colorado Championships...four-year academic all-state (first-team) selection in both volleyball and track...National Honor Society representative...Link-Crew Leader...graduated within the top 10% of class...competed at the club level for Colorado Classix (coached by Scott Nelson) and Colorado Springs Altitude (coached by Chris Sweeny)...served as team captain for four years...member of the club team that finished fifth at the Colorado Crossroads Qualifier Tournament (16s)...also a member of the USA Volleyball 16s that competed at the High Performance Tournament in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., and the USA Volleyball 18s that placed fifth at the Rocky Mountain Region Championships.
