Matt McShane Named Air Force Volleyball Head Coach

Matt McShane has agreed to become the head volleyball coach at the Air Force Academy, athletic department officials announced this afternoon (Jan. 26). McShane, recently selected as one of Volleyball Magazine's 10 Best Assistant Coaches, joins the Falcon program after a five-year stint as an assistant coach at Cal. Falcons Drop Season Finale with 3-0 Loss to Utah

The Air Force volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Utah in its final match of the 2009 season on Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Academy's Clune Arena. After dropping the first two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-16, the Falcons suffered a hard-fought 27-25 loss to the Utes in the final, deciding set. [+]

Air Force Drops Straight Set Match to BYU

Despite a solid showing in the second set, the Air Force volleyball team lost a straight set match to BYU on Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Academy. After falling 25-11 in the first set, the Falcons responded to take the Cougars to extra points in a 26-24 loss. Air Force closed out the night with a 25-16 loss in the final set. [+]

Falcons Close Out Season With Two Matches

The Air Force volleyball team closes out the 2009 season with a pair of matches against a pair of perennial Mountain West Conference powerhouses. The Falcons will host BYU at 7 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 19, before concluding the season on Saturday, Nov. 21, with a 1 p.m., showdown against Utah. Both matches are scheduled to be videostreamed and will be broadcast live on KAFA. [+]

Air Force Falls in Four to San Diego State

The Air Force volleyball team dropped 3-1 Mountain West Conference match to travel partner San Diego State on Friday, Nov. 13. After winning the first set by a 25-19 margin, the Falcons dropped the final three sets by 25-11, 25-18, 25-22 scores. Junior Caroline Kurtz recorded her eighth double-double of the season, as she led the Falcons with 11 kills and 15 digs. [+]

Air Force Prepares to Host Travel Partner San Diego State

With just two weeks left in the season, the Air Force volleyball team will embark on its longest homestand of 2009. This week, the Falcons host travel partner San Diego State in Mountain West Conference action on Friday, Nov. 13. It is just the third time this season that the Falcons have played only one match during the week. Action is slated for an early 5 p.m., start time at the Academy's Clune Arena. [+]
