The Mountain West Conference named 16 men and nine women Air Force Academy track athletes to their 2001 Academic All-Conference team today. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor to the team. Competition begins Wednesday with the decathlon and heptathlon and concludes on Saturday. (more) Lankford Has Banner Day At Colorado State Meet Erica Lankford won the triple jump (38'1 ½"), placed second in the 100- meter hurdles (14.51) and fifth in the long jump (17' 9 ½"). The hurdle time is the second fastest in school history and the long jump mark ranks seventh on the school's all-time list. (more) |
