    Three Air Force players were eliminated Wednesday during the qualifying rounds of the Omni Hotels Women's Tennis Central Region Championships held at the University of Tulsa.

    Senior Kelli O'Bryant was the only one of three Falcons to win her first match, defeating Courtney Leese of Iowa State, 6-3, 6-2. O'Bryant then lost to Zoe Buhagiar of Tulsa, 3-6, 6-3 and 10-4 in a super tie-break.

    Sophomore Gina Black dropped her first-round match to Kristana Olshanskya of Missouri, 3-6, 6-1, 10-8, while senior Heather Shelby lost a straight-set decision to Andrea Cooper of Kansas State, 6-4, 7-5.

    Junior Laura Nigro and freshman Katherine Bushey will play matches in the main draw on Thursday, Oct. 24. Bushey will face Vicki Zielinski of St. Louis University at 1:30 p.m., while Nigro will play a qualifier at 3 p.m.

    Doubles action will begin later in the day on Thursday.
