Falcons in Salt Lake City for Central Region Championships

    The Air Force women's tennis team continues its fall schedule this week at the 2006 Wilson/ITA Central Region Women's Tennis Championships in Salt Lake City. The tournament, hosted by the University of Utah, begins on Wednesday, Oct. 18 and runs through Sunday, Oct. 22 at the Eccles Tennis Center.

    The tournament features over 120 participants from 16 college teams across the region. The field includes competitors from Mountain West Conference schools Utah, BYU, Colorado State, New Mexico and Wyoming.

    Tournament play opens with the singles qualifying rounds on Wednesday. Main draw action is on Thursday and Friday, featuring one round of main draw singles and two rounds of doubles, and consolation rounds starting at 8:30 a.m. The quarterfinals and semifinals of all draws will be played Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m. The consolation and championship finals of both singles and doubles takes place on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
