Falcons travel to Clemson Invitational
Oct. 10, 2002 Head coach Kim Gidley and the Falcon women's tennis team travels to Clemson, S.C., this weekend for the Clemson Invitational, Oct. 11-13. Other teams joining Air Force and host Clemson are Auburn, Furman, Georgia State, North Greenville College, Georgia, South Carolina, Troy State and Winthrop. The tournament is flighted, with all the No. 1 players in a draw, the No. 2 players in a draw, etc. There will be three rounds of doubles on Friday, Oct. 11, followed by two rounds of singles on Saturday, and the final round of singles on Sunday. Junior Laura Nigro enters the tournament as the Falcons' top player, followed by seniors Heather Shelby and Kelli O'Bryant, freshman Katherine Bushey, junior Gina Black and sophomores Miclynn Crail and Mariko Esannason. Nigro and Black will form the team's No. 1 doubles duo, coming off a third-place finish at the USAFA Invitational two weeks ago. O'Bryant and Bushey will form a doubles team, as will Shelby and Crail. Clemson Invitational Schedule (All times Eastern)
