Falcons fall in first round of prequalifying draw

Air Force seniors Laura Nigro and Gina Black were eliminated from the Riviera/ITA All-America Championships Saturday in Los Angeles, Calif. Nigro lost in the prequalifying singles draw and the pair lost in prequalifying doubles.

Nigro, from Lincoln, Neb., dropped a 6-4, 6-3 decision to Oregon's Dominika Dieskova. Nigro and Black played a tough doubles match before falling to Anya Loncaric and Shilpa Joshi of UCLA, 8-5.

The Falcons return to action on Friday, Oct. 10 as they host the USAFA Fall Invitational. Joining Air Force for the three-day tournament are Colorado, Denver, McNeese State, Texas Tech and Wyoming.
