    The Air Force women's tennis team completed play at the Scarborough Specialties Open Saturday in Lubbock, Texas, hosted by Texas Tech. Freshmen Christen Monreal and Katrina Eromin each won the back draw in her flight, while freshman Sarah Cassman finished second in her flight.

    Monreal won the back draw of the "Grey" flight by defeating Stephanie Willerding of Texas-Pan American, 7-5, 6-4. Eromin, meanwhile, downed UTPA's Sarah Burton in an exciting match, 3-6, 6-4, (10-8) to win the "Green" flight back draw.

    Cassman last the final in the same flight, 2-6, 6-0, 6-2 to Silke Buksik of UTPA, while freshman Samantha Sarkis won her consolation match on Saturday, defeating Alex Buckingham of North Central Texas College, 6-3, 6-4.

    Seniors Lauren Wilson and Erika Shortridge continued play at the Maryland Invitational Saturday as well. Wilson produced an impressive singles victory, downing Maggie MacKeever of Maryland, 7-5, 4-6, (10-7) in the consolation bracket of the "B" flight. MacKeever was the No. 2 seed in the flight. Wilson lost her next round match to Nadia Demidenko of George Washington, 6-0, 6-4.

    Shortridge lost her quarterfinal match in the "D" flight to Racquel Wagner of Missouri, 7-5, 6-4, then beat Miranda Falzone of Nova Southeastern, 6-0, 6-1 in the consolation round.

    In doubles, the pair defeated Mary Crider and Elena Vahl of Nova Southeastern, 8-5, in the consolation round. The Maryland Invitational finishes up on Sunday.
