Falcons Attend Arthur Ashe Kids Day at U.S. Open

    Head coach Kim Gidley, assistant coach Perry Wright and current and former members of the Air Force women’s tennis team took part in the Arthur Ashe Kids Day ceremonies Saturday at the U.S. Open in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. Recent graduate Hannah Dake was honored as the national winner of the ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award during the preceedings.

    Gidley and Wright, along with current players Anastasia Hueffner, Marcelli Magday, Natasha Rizvi and Tiffany Tran and former players Tahlia Smoke (’12), Dake and Christine Molina (’13) participated in clinics promoting the game of tennis to kids. Gidley and Wright assisted on several courts as part of the USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association).

    The Arthur Ashe Kids Day ceremonies will be televised on CBS on Sunday, August 25 beginning at 10 a.m. (MT).
