Bushey, Walker named to MWC All-Academic Team

Two members of the Air Force women's tennis team were recently selected to the Mountain West Conference all-academic team. Both players, Kat Bushey and Karissa Walker, are repeat selections.
Bushey, who will begin her senior season this fall, earned a spot on the team for the third consecutive season. She was the team's MVP this past season, posting a team-high 16 singles victories, and the winner of the MWC Sportsmanship Award. Bushey, from Wilmington, Del., has a 3.09 grade-point average.
Walker, meanwhile, was named to the team for the second straight year. The Greensburg, Pa., product currently carries a 3.44 GPA while majoring in systems engineering. The junior-to-be paired with Bushey to produce an 18-18 record as the Falcons' top doubles team in '04-05.
To be eligible, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team.
