Academy to Host ITA Summer Circuit Event This Weekend

Men's Singles Bracket in PDF Format The Air Force Academy will host a 2009 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Collegiate Summer Circuit event this weekend. Top collegiate men's and women's tennis players will compete on AFA's outdoor tennis courts beginning on Saturday, July 4, with the semifinals and championship matches slated for Sunday, July 5. Air Force seniors Brett Rodgers and Austin Francis and juniors Alex Beaussart and Taylor Soster will participate in the men's bracket while sophomore Tahlia Smoke will play in the women's draw. The ITA Collegiate Summer Circuit is made up of seven regional circuits (East, Southeast, Midwest, Central, Mountain, Southwest and West) for collegiate players (events are also open to junior players). Six of the seven regions consist of four consecutive open tournaments played during the month of July, leading up to the August 8-12 ITA National Summer Championships in Bloomington, Indiana. The ITA Collegiate Summer Circuit began in 1993 and over 22,000 players have competed in circuit events since its inception. This weekend's event is free to the public.
