    MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS
     The Air Force women’s tennis team opens play at the 2013 Mountain West Tennis Championships on Friday, April 26 at the Academy. The Falcons, seeded seventh at the tournament, will play No. 2 seed and 65th-ranked UNLV at 2 p.m.

    LAST YEAR AT THE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT
     The Falcons lost to 62nd-ranked Wyoming, 4-0, in the quarterfinals of the 2012 Mountain West Championships in San Diego, Calif.

    AIR FORCE HEAD COACH Kim Gidley
     Air Force head coach Kim Gidley is in her 15th season at the helm of Air Force’s women’s tennis program. The first civilian head coach in the history of the program, Gidley became the winningest coach in the history of the program in 2003 with her 76th victory. She currently has a 197-205 career record. 
     
    LAST TIME OUT
     Air Force lost a pair of league matches last weekend to close the regular season . The Falcons (13-10, 2-6 MW) lost to 41st-ranked Sn Diego State, 6-1, on Saturday and 61st-ranked UNLV, 4-3, on Sunday. Seniors Melissa Cecil and Hannah Dake won the No. 1 doubles match and sophomore Natasha Rizvi won at No. 4 singles against SDSU, while AFA swept the three doubles and Dake (No. 3) and Rizvi (No. 4) won singles matches against UNLV.
     
    CECIL AND DAKE HIT 25-WIN MARK
     Cecil and Dake are 25-11 overa in doubles this season, the most wins by an Air Force doubles team since Kat Bushey and Christine Abayan won 29 during the 2005-06 campaign. Cecil and Dake are 13-8 at the No. 1 position and went 4-4 against Mountain West opponents.  

    GREAT PERCENTAGES IN SINGLES AND DOUBLES THIS YEAR
      The Falcons won 55.1 percent of their singles matches (76-62) and 58.8 percent of their doubles matches (40-28) this spring in their 23 dual matches. Dake won a team-high 13 singles matches, while senior Christine Molina and Rizvi posted a team-high 15 doubles victories.
