    The Air Force Academy will host the 2007 Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Championships, April 25-28, at the AFA Outdoor Tennis Facility in Colorado Springs, Colo. This will mark the fourth time in conference history that the championships will be conducted together and the first time played at the Academy. Remodeled in 2003, the AFA Outdoor Tennis Facility features 12 championship courts and bleacher seating.

    The Air Force women's tennis team will face Colorado State in the first round match of the championships on Wednesday, April 25. The match will begin at 10 a.m. and will be played indoors due to today's snowstorm at the Academy.

    The Falcons enter the tournament as the No. 9 seed after finishing the regular season with a 10-15 overall record and an 0-8 league mark. Colorado State is the eighth seed at 8-11 overall and 1-7 in MWC matches. CSU defeated Air Force, 6-1, during the regular season. The winner of the match will face top-seeded BYU on Thursday, April 26 at 2 p.m. in the quarterfinals.

    Other quarterfinal matchups include No. 2 TCU vs. No. 7 Wyoming and No. 3 UNLV vs. No. 6 Utah, both at 10 a.m., on Thursday. No. 4 San Diego State and No. 5 New Mexico will play at 2 p.m.

    The Air Force men's tennis team will face TCU in the quarterfinals of the championships on Thursday, April 26 at the Academy. The match will begin at 3 p.m. Play is expected to resume outdoors on Thursday.

    The Falcons enter the tournament as the No. 7 seed after finishing the regular season with an 11-15 overall record and an 0-6 league mark. TCU is the second seed at 9-11 overall and 5-1 in MWC matches. TCU topped Air Force, 7-0, during the regular season. The winner of the match will face the winner of No. 3 UNLV and No. 6 Utah on Friday, April 27 at 2 p.m. in the semifinals. The Rebels and Utes meet at noon on Thursday.

    The other quarterfinal matchup is No. 4 New Mexico and No. 5 BYU on Thursday at 9 a.m. The winner of that match will face top-seeded San Diego State in the semis on Friday, April 27.
