    The Air Force women's tennis team will face Wyoming in the first round of the 2008 Mountain West Conference Championships on Wednesday, April 23. The match will begin at 10 a.m. (CT) at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on the TCU campus in Fort Worth, Texas.

    The 20th-ranked Horned Frogs of TCU enter the 2008 Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Championship as the No. 1 seed after posting a perfect 8-0 record (18-4 overall) en route to the Mountain West regular-season title. Opening-round action begins Wednesday, April 23, with quarterfinals set to follow on Thursday, April 24. Semifinal play takes place on Friday, April 25 with the championship scheduled for Saturday, April 26.

    UNLV (14-8, 6-2 MWC) and New Mexico (14-8, 6-2 MWC) tied for second place in the league standings, with the Rebels winning the tiebreaker for the No. 2 seed by virtue of their shutout of the Lobos in regular-season action. A tie break was also necessary to determine the No. 4 and 5 seeds, with Utah (14-8, 5-3 MWC) claiming the No. 4 spot over BYU (13-11, 5-3 MWC) based on the 63rd-ranked Utes' upset of the 40th-ranked Cougars on Saturday. San Diego State (11-12, 3-5 MWC) captured the No. 6 seed, while Colorado State (9-10, 2-6 MWC) will be the No. 7 seed. Rounding out the bracket is No. 8 seed Wyoming (10-12, 1-7 MWC) and No. 9 seed Air Force (6-20, 0-8 MWC).

    Action at the 2008 MWC Championship gets underway Wednesday, April 23 at 10 a.m. Central Time with an opening-round match between No. 8 Wyoming and No. 9 Air Force. Quarterfinal action begins at 10 a.m. CT Thursday, April 24, featuring No. 2 UNLV vs. No. 7 Colorado State and No. 3 New Mexico vs. No. 6 San Diego State. Thursday's second set of quarterfinals is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. CT, with top seed TCU taking on the winner of the Wyoming-Air Force match and No. 4 Utah squaring off against No. 5 BYU. Semifinal contests will be played at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m
