Air Force Academy

The New Mexico State women's tennis team swept through the Air Force Falcons, 7-0, on Sunday at the NMSU Tennis Center. The win marks the fifth match win in a row for the Aggies, who improved to 11-6 overall, while the Falcons fell to 8-15.

In doubles play the Aggies top team of Lejla Porobic and Isabelle Mignot played a tough match and barely defeated AFA's Kat Bushey and Karissa Walker, 9-8. Nicole Fintell and Fanny Rollet won the No. 2 match over Liza Vaccaro and Lauren Wilson, 8-4.

AFA's senior duo of Miclynn Crail and Katie Tomkie won the No. 3 match, 9-8, over Sandra Mayr and Anne Fagegaltier.

New Mexico State rolled through the singles matches winning all six in straight sets. Leading things off was Mignot, who defeated Bushey, 6-4 6-2 at the No. 1 spot. At. No. 2, Porobic defeated Walker 7-6, 6-2, while Fanny Rollet beat Wilson at No. 3, 6-4, 6-3.

The Aggies also saw success at the bottom of the draw as Fintell defeated Vaccaro, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4. Fagegaltier won the No. 5 match over sophomore Kelly Morgan, 6-4, 7-5, while V. Rollet beat Tomkie, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6.

The Falcons wrap up their regular season on Tuesday, April 26 at Point Loma Nazarene, two days before the start of the MWC Championships in San Diego, Calif.
