Women's Tennis Falls to UNLV, 4-3

    The Air Force women's tennis team lost a tight match to 65th-ranked UNLV, 4-3, Friday on the campus of San Diego State. The Falcons dropped to 12-13 overall and 1-5 in Mountain West Conferenc play, while the Lady Rebels improved to 8-11 and 4-2.

     

    UNLV began the day by sweeping three doubles matches for one team point.

     

    In singles play, Air Force got a victory from Heather Shelby at No. 4 singles, defeating Urska Radanovic, 6-2, 6-0. Kristel Chuntraruk (No. 2) and Laura Nigro (No. 3) won in third set super-tiebreakers after UNLV had already clinched the team victory.

     

    Air Force closes out its regular season Saturday with a match against San Diego State.
