The Air Force women's tennis team plays its first home matches of the spring season this weekend at the Academy. The Falcons, 14-6 overall and 10-6 this spring, including a 1-1 record in the Mountain West, will host Mountain West foe Wyoming on Friday, April 4 at 2 p.m., North Dakota (10 a.m.) and Colorado College (1 p.m.) on Saturday, April 5, and league opponent Colorado State on Sunday, April 6 at 12 p.m.
Air Force's lone senior, Anastasia Hueffner, will be honored in a ceremony between the two matches on Saturday. Entering the weekend, she has 52 doubles and 47 singles wins in her career. She is 8-6 in singles this season, including a perfect 3-0 in dual matches. In doubles, she is 14-8 overall and 7-4 in dual matches. She won a career-high 20 singles and doubles matches as a freshman, one of only two Falcons to win at least 20 singles and doubles matches that season. Her first assignment as a 2nd Lt., will be at Patrick AFB, Fla., as a force support officer.
The Falcons have won six of their last eight matches, including a 5-2 victory over Utah State last weekend in the team's Mountain West opener. Freshman Tracy Landram leads the team with 22 overall singles victories and is 14-2 in dual matches. Juniors Natasha Rizvi and Marcelli Magday follow with 19 and 18, respectively.
