Falcons Host BYU and Utah This Week

The Air Force women's tennis team hosts two nationally ranked conference opponents this week at the Academy. On Thursday, April 3, the Falcons will play 47th-ranked BYU at 10 a.m., then battle 56th-ranked Utah on Friday, April 4 at noon. Both matches are scheduled to be played outside, but may be moved indoors due to inclement weather. Air Force is 5-15 overall this season and 0-3 in the Mountain West Conference after suffering losses to #53 New Mexico and #22 TCU in Fort Worth, Texas last weekend. The Falcons have had impressive seasons by several freshmen, including Sarah Cassman and Christen Monreal, who are tied for the team lead with 18 overall singles wins. Monreal has the team's best dual match record at 10-6. BYU comes to the Academy with a 10-8 overall record and a 2-0 mark in conference matches. The Cougars downed San Diego State, 4-1, in their final home match of the season last Saturday. Utah, meanwhile, is 10-6 overall and 1-1 in the MWC. The Utes dropped a 4-0 decision to 62nd-ranked UNLV last Saturday. After these two matches, Air Force returns to the road for a pair of matches in San Diego, CA against San Diego State (April 11) and UNLV (April 13).
