Falcons Begin MWC Action This Week in Fort Worth
March 30, 2010
The Air Force women's tennis team opens Mountain West Conference play this week with a pair of matches in Fort Worth, Texas. The Falcons (13-5) will play New Mexico on Thursday, April 1 at 2 p.m., and TCU on Friday, April 2 at 10 a.m. The Falcons are looking to snap a three-match losing streak, their longest of the season. They haven't played since losing a pair of matches on March 20 to Hawaii (5-2) and Hawaii Pacific (4-3). Air Force already has three players with at least 20 overall singles victories, led by freshmen Christine Molina and Melissa Cecil, each with 23. Air Force hasn't had three players with 20 wins in one season since 2006. New Mexico is 2-11 this season after a 7-0 loss to Central Florida last weekend. The Lobos defeated AFA, 7-0, last season and have not lost a point to Air Force since the 2005 campaign (UNM won 6-1). TCU, meanwhile, is 2-12 this season after falling, 7-0, to Notre Dame last Saturday. The Horned Frogs defeated the Falcons, 5-2, last season.
