AFA Women's Tennis Blanked By No. 38 New Mexico, 7-0


    The Air Force women's tennis team capped off its three-match Mountain West Conference road trip in Albuquerque, N.M., with a 7-0 loss to No. 38 New Mexico Sunday.

    New Mexico earned the doubles point by winning two out of three matches. Air Force's duo of Brooke Parsons and Laura Nigro combined to win the No. 2 doubles match, defeating Lindsey Marvel and Caroline Pollock 8-5.

    The Lobos swept the six singles matches, with two going to a third set. AFA's No. 2 player Kristel Chuntraruk lost her second three-set match in three days, falling to Tjasa Suvak 6-2, 1-6, 6-3. Nigro and UNM's Courtney Choate produced a great match at No. 3 singles, with Choate pulling out a come from behind 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 victory.

    The Falcons (10-10, 0-3 MWC) return home for a pair of conference matches against Wyoming (Saturday, Mar. 31, 9 a.m.) and Colorado State (Sunday, Apr. 1, 3:30 p.m.).
