AFA's Three-Match Win Streak Snapped by Weber State

The Weber State women's tennis team snapped Air Force's three-match winning streak Monday with a 6-1 victory over the Falcons in Ogden, Utah. The Falcons fall to 8-7 this season and enter Mountain West Conference action on Thursday, March 24 against San Diego State in Las Vegas, Nev.

Weber State started out earning the doubles point by winning two of the three doubles matches.  Junior Kat Bushey and sophomore Karissa Walker won the No. 1 match for Air Force, defeating Elana Smit and Inalise Pienaar, 8-4.

Bushey also collected Air Force's only singles win by beating Smit, 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 1 position. Weber State won the other five matches, four of them in straight sets. The only three-setter was at the No. 4 spot where WSU's Karla Pretorius defeated senior Katie Tomkie, 1-6, 7-6, 6-3.
