    Air Force senior Brooke Parsons has been named this week's Mountain West Conference women's tennis player of the week. This is the first player of the week honor in her career.

    Parsons, from Erwin, Tenn., upset the 63rd-ranked player in the country, Becky Varnum of Notre Dame, 6-3, 6-4, in the Falcons' 5-2 loss to the No. 17 Irish on March 9. She also teamed with Laura Nigro to defeat Varnum and Emily Neighbours, 8-3, in doubles play. Parsons then led the Falcons to a 4-3 upset over No. 62 Southern Methodist on March 14 with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Kit Carson at the No. 1 singles position. In doubles action, Parsons and Nigro beat Carson and Jenny Langer, 9-7.

    Parsons is 10-2 in singles this season and 8-3 in doubles.
