Air Force Academy

The Air Force women's tennis team split a pair of matches Saturday at the Academy, falling to Abilene Christian, 4-3, in the morning, then rebounding for a 7-0 win over CSU-Pueblo. The Falcons are now 4-9 this season.

After winning the doubles point against ACU, the Falcons captured only two of the six singles contests. Freshman Christine Abayan won the No. 2 match, defeating Meagan Brown in an exciting three-setter, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6, while junior Kelly Morgan won at the No. 5 spot, beating Sara Drummond, also in three sets, 7-6, 2-6, 7-5. Abilene Christian won the other four singles matches in straight sets.

In the afternoon, Air Force swept all nine matches, including three 6-0, 6-0 victories.

Air Force plays its first Mountain West Conference match of the season next Saturday, March 4 against Wyoming at the Academy. The match will begin at 9 a.m.
