Falcons Host Bowling Green State Friday Morning

    The Air Force women's tennis team hosts Bowling Green State this Friday, Feb. 18 at 10:30 a.m. on the AFA Indoor Courts. Air Force (7-2) will try to win its eighth straight match, which will be the longest since the program moved to Division I in 1996.

    Air Force's top four singles players, senior Christen Monreal (No. 1), sophomore Melissa Cecil (No. 2), junior Tahlia Smoke (No. 3) and senior Sarah Cassman (No. 4) each won both of her singles matches last Saturday. Monreal, who saved a couple of set points in her 7-6(6), 6-4 victory over Emilia Milovanovic of Wofford, Cecil and Smoke won both in straight sets, while Cassman defeated Sarah Evans of Wofford, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.

    Cecil and Smoke combined to win both of their No. 1 doubles matches and are now 7-1 this spring at the top spot. Cassman and sophomore Hannah Dake won both the No. 3 doubles matches.

    Bowling Green State enters Friday's match with a 6-2 record after defeating IPFW, 5-2, last Saturday.
