Falcons Play Three Matches in Lincoln, Neb., This Weekend

The Air Force women's tennis team travels to Lincoln, Neb., for three matches this weekend at the University of Nebraska. The Falcons, 7-1 this season, will face the host Cornhuskers on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 9 a.m., then will play two matches on Sunday, Feb. 14, against Drake at 10 a.m. and Nebraska-Kearney at 3 p.m. Air Force is off to its best start since opening the 1999-2000 campaign at 8-0. A pair of freshmen, Christine Molina and Melissa Cecil, lead the team with 15 overall singles victories, while junior Sarah Cassman is close behind with 14. Molina, the reigning Air Force Academy athlete of the week, won all eight of her matches last weekend as the Falcons rolled to four straight wins at home. In doubles play, Molina and junior Christen Monreal have combined for a 7-2 overall record and a 6-1 mark this spring. Cecil and fellow freshman Hannah Dake are an impressive 6-1 at the No. 1 doubles spot this season.
