Air Force junior Laura Nigro has been named Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week after posting a 2-0 record in singles competition and, along with Kelli O'Bryant, going 1-1 in doubles play last week. This is her second career player of the week honor.

Nigro, a Lincoln, Neb., native, began the week beating Texas-San Antonio's Chantal Lesaar in straight sets (6-3, 6-4) at No. 1 singles and teamed with O'Bryant to defeat Paula Erausquin and Barbara Mooney at No. 2 doubles, 8-6. In the Falcons 5-2 win over #70 Texas Tech, she was victorious over No. 92 Irina Tereschenko in three sets (6-4, 6-7, 7-6), helping Air Force to its first road victory over a nationally ranked opponent in school history. Nigro is 6-8 (2-2 dual) on the season in singles action.
