The Air Force men's and women's tennis teams host in-state rival University of Colorado this Saturday, Feb. 3 on the indoor courts at the Cadet Gymnasium. The men's match begins at 9 a.m., followed by the women's match at 2 p.m.
The Air Force men are 3-0 this spring and currently have a 26-match home winning streak. The Falcons defeated Montana State last Saturday at home, 5-2. Sophomore Eric Pittman has won all three of his singles matches at No. 1 singles, and senior Rene Ramirez is also undefeated this spring.
CU's men own a 34-17 advantage in the overall series with the Falcons, including a 4-3 victory last season in Boulder.
Saturday's match marks the opening of the spring season for the Falcon women. Air Force posted a 2-1 dual record in the fall, including a 5-2 victory over Army to capture the Gideon Cup for the second consecutive year. Junior Brooke Parsons holds the No. 1 singles position after garnering a No. 29 ranking in the Central Region for the fall, the first Air Force female to be ranked since moving to Division I in 1996.
Air Force and CU women's teams have only played three times, with the
Buffaloes winning two. The teams have not played since the 1991-92 season.
