The Air Force women's tennis team completes a three-match homestand this Saturday, Jan. 31, with a pair of matches at the Academy. The Falcons host Northern Colorado at 9:30 a.m., followed by Eastern Washington at 1:30 p.m.

Air Force (0-1) dropped its season-opener last weekend to New Orleans, 6-1. Senior Laura Nigro won the lone match for Air Force, defeating Lucie Mazinova, 6-4, 6-2, at the No. 1 singles position. Mazinova finished the 2002-03 campaign ranked in the top 150 in the country.

This Saturday, the Falcons face Northern Colorado, a Division II team that will move to the Division I level next season. The Falcons have won three consecutive matches against the Bears, but UNC holds a 24-13 advantage in the series, with a majority of the matches played when Air Force was a Division II team.

Air Force has not lost to Eastern Washington in four matches, and is 3-0 against EWU under head coach Kim Gidley, the Falcons' all-time leader in victories (77) among Air Force women's tennis coaches.
