Four Falcons in Finals at Northridge Invitational

    Four members of the Air Force women's tennis team will play in the finals of their flights on Sunday at the Matador Invitational hosted by Cal.-State Northridge. Junior Katrina Eromin and sophomore Tahlia Smoke will face off in the finals of the "C" flight, while junior Christen Monreal will play sophomore Shannon Young in the "D" flight final.

    Eromin, who won two matches on Friday, defeated Zarina Pisnoy of Northridge, 6-3, 6-4 in the semis, while Smoke downed Ashlee Thorneycraft of CSU Bakersfield, 7-5, 7-5 in the other semifinal match.

    Monreal advanced to the finals of the "D" flight with a decisive, 6-1, 6-2 victory over Alexis Ferriera of CSU Stanislaus on Saturday, while Young beat Nefeli Dimante of CSU Bakersfield by the same score.

    Two Falcon freshmen, Melissa Cecil and Christine Molina, each won a consolation match on Saturday in the "A" flight. Cecil handled Emma Verbenne of Nevada, 6-4, 7-5, while Molina won a thrilling, 6-2, 6-7, 6-4 match over Vanessa Reibstein of CSU Stanislaus.
