Freshmen win doubles matches on Sunday

Three players on the Air Force women's tennis team wrapped up play Sunday at the CU Invitational in Boulder, Colo.

Tahlia Smoke and Allie Chermel won both of their doubles matches Sunday in a round-robin competition. They defeated Madie Kern and Allison Wahba of Colorado, 8-5, then downed Jodi Ciarvella and Jennifer Whateley of Northern Colorado, 8-1.

AFA's other player, Megumi Voight, paired with Shivani Davé of Illinois to defeat Ciarvella and Whateley, 8-2, then beat Brittany DeFelice and Jamie Nelson of Wyoming, 8-6.

The Falcons return to action next weekend at the Jayhawk Invitational, hosted by the University of Kansas, beginning Friday, Sept. 26.
