The Air Force women's tennis team completed day two of the Gopher Invitational Saturday with three Falcons winning singles matches. The three-day tournament wraps up on Sunday at the University of Minnesota.

Senior Christine Abayan, sophomore Christen Monreal and freshman Tahlia Smoke each won her singles match on Saturday. Abayan pulled out an exciting three-set victory, 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 over Magdalena Wiecha of Minnesota and will battle Marie-Christine Chartier of Iowa State in the consolation final of her flight.

Monreal also won a thriller, defeating Allison Majercik of Iowa, 1-6, 6-4, 11-9, while Smoke handled Abby Buxton of Nebraska, 6-3, 6-3.

In doubles action, Monreal and fellow sophomore Katrina Eromin captured the lone victory for Air Force on Saturday. The duo defeated Kylie Adamek and Chandler Kleinpeter of LSU, 8-4.

"We had another great day today with wins over Minnesota, Iowa, LSU and Nebraska," said Air Force head coach Kim Gidley. "I especially liked the way everyone competed in singles, we either won or made adjustments in the second set to get into the match."
