Falcons Blanked by No. 36 UNLV

The 36th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team blanked Air Force 7-0 on Sunday at the Aztec Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. With the victory, UNLV completed its regular season with a 20-3 overall record and 7-1 in the Mountain West Conference, while the Falcons fell to 16-10 overall and 2-5 in league play. On Sunday, the Lady Rebels won the doubles point by taking three matches for a 1-0 advantage. Kristina Nedeltcheva and Jana Albers, ranked 75th in the country, won 8-3 at the top of the lineup over junior Christen Monreal and freshman Hannah Dake. Anna Maskaljun and Alisa Razina combined for an 8-0 victory on court two over sophomore Allie Chermel and freshman Christine Molina, while Nives Pavlovic and Adrienn Hidvegi won the No. 3 match,8-7, over sophomore Tahlia Smoke and freshman Melissa Cecil to complete the sweep. In singles, the 49th-ranked Nedeltcheva posted a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Monreal at the top position, while 114th-ranked Albers defeated Smoke 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2. Pavlovic downed Dake 6-3, 6-1 to clinch the match at No. 3. UNLV took the other three matches in straight sets.
