Falcons Win 4-0 Over Idaho State

    The Air Force women’s tennis team won its second straight match and improved to 10-5 this spring with a 4-0 victory over Idaho State Saturday in Pocatello, Idaho. The teams played an abbreviated match consisting of four singles matches and one doubles contest.

    Air Force won the doubles match as senior Anastasia Hueffner and junior Marcelli Magday defeated Marian Tangarife and Laura Theus 8-0. The Falcons also won the three singles matches that finished.

    Junior Tiffany Tran won at No. 1 singles, defeating Kasey Bacon, 6-3, 6-1, while sophomore Mary Meyers beat Svenja Tegtmeier, 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2. Rizvi closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the No. 3 spot over Wiebke Boeckmann. The No. 4 match between freshman Tracy Landram and Zamira Vasquez did not finish.

    The Falcons wrap up their spring break trip with their second Mountain West match of the season on Sunday, March 30 at Boise State beginning at 10 a.m.
