    The 53rd-ranked University of New Mexico women's tennis team shut out the Air Force Falcons, 7-0, Friday in Fort Worth, Texas. With the win, UNM improved to 9-6 overall and 1-0 in Mountain West Conference play, while the Falcons fell to 5-14 and 0-2 in the MWC.

    New Mexico started off the day with a sweep in doubles. Ola Abou-Zekry and Lucy Scott paired up at No. 1 for an 8-3 win over sophomores Christine Abayan and Erlyn Rudico. In the No. 2 spot, Mackenzie White and Jennifer Ryba teamed up against freshmen Christen Monreal and Samantha Sarkis and collected an 8-2 victory. Emma Hayman and Victoria Tessmar completed the sweep by winning the No. 3 match, 8-0, over senior Lauren Wilson and freshman Sarah Cassman.

    In singles, freshman Katrina Eromin was the only Falcon to stretch a match to three sets. However, she fell to Hayman, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 at the No. 4 spot. The Lobos won the other five singles matches in straight sets.

    Air Force continues MWC play on Saturday, March 29 against No. 22 TCU at 10 a.m. (CT).
