Falcons Defeat Northern Colorado, 6-1

    The Air Force women’s tennis team defeated Northern Colorado, 6-1, Sunday at the Academy. The Falcons, winners of seven straight matches, improved to 11-4 this season while the Bears fell to 3-6.

    The Falcons won the doubles point by capturing the top two doubles matches. Senior Christine Molina and sophomore Natasha Rizvi got things rolling with an 8-2 victory over Chrissie Hoolahan and Claire Uhle at the No. 2 spot. Seniors Melissa Cecil and Hannah Dake clinched the point with an 8-3 triumph over Stephanie Catlin and Elizabeth Tapia at the No. 1 position.

    In singles action, the Falcons won five of the six matches, all in straight sets.

    The Falcons return to action on Tuesday, March 12 against Rhode Island at the Academy, beginning at 3 p.m.
