Iowa State Downs Air Force, 7-0

The Air Force women's tennis team had its Division I-record 12 match winning streak snapped Saturday with a 7-0 loss to Iowa State in Ames, Iowa. The Falcons fall to 12-3 this spring with the loss. The Cyclones jumped out to a 1-0 lead with wins at the top two doubles spots. The only Falcon win all day was at No. 3 doubles, where senior Sarah Cassman and Hannah Dake defeated Liza Wischer and Emma Waites, 8-1. Iowa State swept the six singles matches, four of them in straight sets. Junior Tahlia Smoke took Maria Macedo to three sets at the No. 2 match before losing, 6-1, 2-6, 6-0, while freshman Anastasia Hueffner lost the No. 5 match to Jenna Langhorst, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. The Falcons continue their road trip on Sunday, March against Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa beginning at 11 a.m.
