Falcons Fall to Gonzaga 6-1

The Air Force women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday, falling to Gonzaga 6-1 in Eugene, Ore. Gonzaga evened its record at 1-1 while the Falcons are now 4-1. The Bulldogs won the doubles point despite Air Force taking the No. 2 doubles match as senior Chrisitne Molina and sophomore Natasha Rizvi defeated Samantha Polayes and Melanie Yates, 8-6. In singles play, senior Hannah Dake posted AFA's lone victory, beating Kylie Peek 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot. Sophomore Tiffany Tran (No. 3) and senior Melissa Cecil (No. 5) each lost in a third-set super tiebreaker. The Falcons will play the University of Oregon on Sunday, Jan. 3 at 9 a.m.
